IWC introduced numerous Portuguese watches at SIHH 2010 last week. This is IWC's oldest and most popular watch collection. The new collection is far ranging with a Grand Complication, two Tourbillons, two Perpetual Calendars, two chronographs, an Automatic, a Hand-wound, and a Minute Repeater. Very few watchmakers currently have a Fusee Chain transmission in their répertoire. In fact, the only other company I can think of, is A.Lange & Sohne, with their Pour le Mérite. But for Breguet, the inventor of the tourbillon, an ultra complicated Fusee-and-chain transmission was not enough. So, the watchmakers at Breguet added a tourbillon and Replica Zenith watches Breguet's new silicon balance spring. When you think Breguet, you generally think "traditional", but with a watch that contains a silicon balance spring and a titanium tourbillion cage, you can hardly call it traditional. I am not exactly sure were this falls within the traditional to contemporary spectrum, but one thing that is clear, this piece is unique.
